Settlement….Pause

The above two words are coming to me as naturally as I breathe in the air that surrounds me on these unfamiliar, slower days that I am experiencing. I have finally locked the shop door and moved away from my loved Palm Springs Gallery. Several factors contributed to this decision, but I would say that the yearning to stay in one place was tempting enough to go ahead and transform my southern location into my northern spot at my farmhouse studio here in Snohomish. I have been revisiting many of my paintings that have been silent in their storage spaces for far too long. I feel an overwhelming sense of joy at seeing these paintings again, as they bring back memories of moments in time that I can connect with and fill my soul with gratitude for having traveled and painted many different scenes to share with those who may also connect with a particular place. The studio here in the Northwest is undergoing an expansion, and I have been busy redoing floors, removing windows, and making plans for adding on to my space. Our sign is ready to go up on our gallery very soon, and I will keep everyone updated on any upcoming events. For example, the Snohomish Art Tour will take place on September 27th and 28th. My Farmhouse is on the tour, and the coordinators actually shuttle people here  to the gallery from the city, which is a couple of miles north. I have been hosting my share of this event for the last few years, and we consistently draw a large crowd. It could be because we also have homemade pizza in our outdoor wood oven, along with some late August berry cobbler to finish off the food part. This year, there will be live music, more cobbler, and more pizza. If you are in our area, please stop by for a glass of bubbly, coffee, and treats! I have included some pictures that show just how balanced my work and rest life is becoming. Picking blackberries, feeding goats, and trading produce with local farmers is the “rest” part of my life. You can distinguish the “work” part of my life in the other few photos. I am excited to include all of my clients, family, and friends to join me in this new journey of paintings and adventures. Stay tuned!
