Snohomish Art Tour
Sometimes I have to wonder how, on the weekend of the Snohomish Art Tour, the weather mustered up the sun’s light and pushed away any threat of gloomy gray or wet droplets that dared to show up! We were most fortunate that, with the amazing weather, the show shined on. We had quite the spread of nibbles. The night before, my wife carefully concocted her stuffed grape leaves, making sure the ground lamb was fresh and the lemons and saffron permeated the broth. The blackberries picked in late August gave up their cozy bed in the freezer and came to life as an annual tour staple: blackberry cobbler, simmered in the oven with local honey and spices. Around 11:AM, the guests began to arrive. The gallery was welcoming, with many of my newer paintings on view. The conversations were engaging and most inspiring. Sharing my work and the responses to it keep me moving forward in my mission to create and celebrate the results of a long day out in nature behind my easel. I met so many neighbors in the community, and from afar, who had traveled the 30 minutes from Seattle to spend an afternoon at our farm and gallery. I envision this little paradise becoming a sanctuary for those who seek a place to create and rest from the negative influences in our environments. Our apple trees are delivering right now, and many of our guests were encouraged to partake in the fruits of the harvest. In two weeks, we will begin the harvesting of our chestnut trees. Please stop by to view the paintings, sip wine, drink coffee or tea, and chat during our open hours: Friday - Sunday, 11 - 5
